Job Description
We are looking for an ambitious Payroll & Benefits Supervisor to provide support to the payroll and human resources department by managing various daily tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s payroll and employee benefits.
The individual’s responsibilities include conveying benefit information to employees and update them on any changes with their benefits. Other duties include developing on-boarding orientation about payroll and benefits for new employees. Daily management of payroll accounting and benefit outlays to employees are significant parts of your daily work routine. The Payroll & Benefits Supervisor administers the activities relating to the company payroll and benefits. The individual will be the company’s subject matter expert with all payroll, benefits administration.
Compensation
Annual competitive base - $75,000
Discretionary bonus of up to 2% of annual base
401K Plan participation available, including up to 2% employer contribution

Department-Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist in the payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees; including reviewing and importing hours from time and attendance system, entering tax and direct deposit information, administering regulatory requirements, e.g., garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, and other adjustments to pay as necessary.
Assist with updating payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers.
- Analyze and reconcile monthly benefits enrollments and terminations, payroll deductions and vendor invoices/reports to maintain accurate and timely expenditure controls.
- Oversees the proper and accurate processing and tracking of paid time off for all personnel within the company.
- Oversees the proper and timely processing of all payroll terminations, benefit cancellations, and COBRA notifications.
- Manages and processes monthly billings from insurance providers and other vendors, including review billings for accuracy, codes, and advance for payment, if any. Resolve discrepancies with carriers and payroll.
- Manages company-wide benefits plans, including health insurance, 401(k) plans and development of internal guidelines and materials.
- Oversees the proper and accurate processing and tracking of paid medical leave.
- Significantly contributes to the design, configuration and communication activities related to ongoing and annual benefit enrollment process.
- Assist in research and resolve issues regarding payroll discrepancies and processing with ADP representative, or escalate to Director of HR as appropriate.
- Assist in responding to all unemployment claims in a timely manner.
- Coordinates and conducts the new employee on boarding process and presents benefits presentations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
- Plans, conducts and reports results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee and works closely with Accounting for quarterly and year end audits (payroll, Workers Comp, 401k, etc.) as needed.
- Produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll, human resources, and accounting as needed.

Qualifications:
- At least 3+ years of experience administering payroll, HRIS and benefits processes.
- Work experience should include knowledge of basic human resources, payroll practices, benefits administration, and compliance or other related experience
- Experience with ADP and ADP Advantage Report a plus
- Proficient in Excel and MS Word
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of mathematical calculations and book keeping procedures
- Relevant work experience in the food retail industry a plus
